Knicks Home Opener Ticket Prices Reach Record Highs for Championship Celebration

The New York Knicks will host their 2026-27 home opener at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, Oct. 20, facing LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers. The game is marked by a pre-game ceremony celebrating the Knicks' 2025-26 NBA Finals victory, their first championship in 53 years. During the ceremony, players and coaches will receive championship rings, a banner will be raised, and a commemorative video will be shown.

This highly anticipated event has led to record-breaking ticket prices for a regular season game. As of Oct. 19, the lowest available ticket price on StubHub was $1,063, including fees. While these prices have seen a slight decrease from earlier in the week, they are reported to be the most expensive regular season game in NBA history.

For those looking to attend, ticket prices vary by seating section. The 300 level starts at $1,063, the 200 level at $1,203, the 100 level at $1,830, and lower-level seats begin at $2,514, all including fees. Prices have reportedly dropped by $86 since Oct. 14, when tickets were listed starting at $1,149.

For fans seeking more affordable options, other Knicks home games at MSG are available at lower price points. For example, tickets for the Oct. 25 game against the Orlando Magic start at $178, including fees. A comprehensive schedule of Knicks home games for the 2026-27 season, along with starting ticket prices, is available for October through April. Notable games include matchups against the Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, and rivals like the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers.

Fans unable to attend in person can watch the games through various broadcast options, including MSG Network, ABC, ESPN, NBC, Amazon Prime Video, and NBA TV. Streaming services such as Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, Sling, and YouTube TV are also recommended for cord-cutters.

In addition to NBA action, Madison Square Garden is scheduled to host several major entertainment events. Upcoming performances include Dave Chappelle from Nov. 6-7, Dave Matthews Band on Nov. 12-13, Stevie Wonder on Nov. 19, Doja Cat with Latto on Dec. 1, and Andrea Bocelli on Dec. 16-17.
