Knicks Fan Celebrates Championship With Elaborate Skeleton Halloween Display

A New Jersey resident has captured local attention with a unique Halloween decoration that pays homage to the New York Knicks' recent NBA championship. The elaborate display recreates OG Anunoby's pivotal Game 4 tip-in against the San Antonio Spurs, a moment that helped secure the team's first title in 53 years.

The home in Tenafly, New Jersey, features a scene populated by skeletons, meticulously arranged to mimic the game's dramatic play. Central to the display is a 12-foot skeleton, costumed in a Victor Wembanyama jersey, representing the Spurs' star player who was positioned defensively near the key. Another skeleton, adorned with a Jalen Brunson jersey, appears to be taking the shot that was just short.

Anunoby's skeleton figure is depicted in mid-air, tipping the ball in over the outstretched arms of the Wembanyama skeleton. The setup also includes skeletons dressed as notable courtside celebrities, such as Timothée Chalamet and Spike Lee, adding to the immersive tableau.

The homeowner told NBC New York that the idea for the decorations stemmed from the significance of Anunoby's game-winning tip-in. "As soon as the Knicks won the championship, I said, ‘This is going to be our decorations this year,’" the owner stated. The iconic nature of the moment and the availability of a large skeleton made it a fitting theme.

At night, the display is enhanced by purple and orange lights, further emphasizing the Knicks' theme. A sign on the porch reads, "The tip-in that did the Spurs in," and a scoreboard replica shows the 106-105 score from just before Anunoby's decisive basket.

The Knicks are set to receive their championship rings during a ceremony at Madison Square Garden, where they will host LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers to open their new season.
