ESPN commentator Kirk Herbstreit revealed that his former gymnast wife, Alison, employed a unique method involving handstands after intimacy, which he believes led to them having four sons.
Herbstreit shared the anecdote on the "Bussin' With the Boys" podcast. He explained that his wife, who has a background in gymnastics, had researched the matter and concluded that male sperm were faster. Following their intimate moments, she would perform a handstand on the bed, a practice they repeated for each of their four children, all of whom were boys.
"Well, my wife, to be specific, my wife was a gymnast… When we would get done with, when we were done... she heard the male sperm were faster. She would do a handstand, she would go up on the bed, and we're four-for-four," Herbstreit stated.
While the exact duration of the handstands was not specified, the podcast hosts and Herbstreit appeared to embrace the unconventional strategy as the reason for their sons.
