A letter issued on behalf of King Charles has clarified that Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will not resume duties as working royals, despite their recent return to the United Kingdom. The communication, sent by the Lord Chamberlain, a senior palace official, to Prince Harry's team, the government, military, and Lord Lieutenants, states that the couple are now considered private citizens.

The clarification comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, accompanied by their children Archie and Lilibet, have returned to Britain from California. The letter explicitly notes that they will not be permitted to use their "HRH" titles, signifying His and Her Royal Highness. Instead, their status is defined as private citizens with commercial and charitable interests.
