King Charles III has expressed his admiration for the design of Europe's first eco mosque, stating he was impressed by "all the care and attention" dedicated to its construction. The monarch visited the Cambridge Central Mosque on Monday, where he was informed about the building's environmental features.

During his tour, the King observed several eco-friendly initiatives implemented at the mosque. These include the use of efficient heat pumps and solar panels, as well as systems for collecting greywater from sinks and rainwater. Large skylights are also utilized to provide natural light throughout the year.

Before entering a prayer hall, King Charles removed his shoes, a customary practice. He was also presented with a book detailing the mosque's capacity, which can accommodate 1,000 worshippers. The visit was met with crowds of well-wishers who gathered to see the King in Mill Road.
