King Charles Collaborates with Burberry on New Collection Featuring His Artwork

Burberry has launched a new collection in collaboration with King Charles, featuring an original watercolor painting by the monarch. The artwork, which depicts Birkhall, a royal residence near the Balmoral Estate, has inspired several items in the line.

A wool sweater emblazoned with the watercolor is priced at £1,350, while a silk scarf showcasing the print, accented with a bay green interpretation of Burberry's signature house check, is available for £375. The collection also includes Burberry's Mayfair trench jacket, featuring a lining inspired by the King's artwork, retailing for £1,950, and a scarf in the green pattern for £555.

This collaboration marks the fifth partnership between Burberry and Highgrove Gardens, King Charles's private residence in Gloucestershire. Birkhall, an 18th-century house in Aberdeenshire, was originally purchased by Prince Albert in 1849. It was later given to the future King George VI and was frequently visited by Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret.

King Charles inherited Birkhall from the Queen Mother in 2002. He and Queen Camilla spent their honeymoon there in 2005 and have continued to use it as a summer retreat. The King has also undertaken improvements to the gardens at Birkhall.

Burberry stated that the new collection is “rooted in a shared appreciation for the British countryside.” The brand noted that Highgrove Gardens, known for its organic gardening and sustainability principles, reflects the King's commitment to environmental conservation.

Previous collaborations between Burberry and Highgrove have featured the work of other artists and aimed to promote young British creatives, aligning with the King's Foundation's mission to support emerging talent.
