King Charles and Queen Camilla visited the London Zoo on Thursday, with the King playfully dodging his wife's umbrella as they departed. Temperatures in London reached 33C (91.4F) amid a heatwave, prompting Camilla to use an umbrella for sun protection while Charles wore sunglasses.

During their visit to the Regent's Park attraction, the couple also visited the Penguin Beach enclosure. The King, an ardent nature lover, appeared delighted and posed for photographs with the Queen. This marks the King's first visit since becoming patron of the Zoological Society, a role held by every monarch since 1828.

Queen Camilla was also seen laughing while feeding lemurs at the zoo. The couple's visit comes after a busy week for the King, which included meeting police officers involved in the Bedfordshire train crash and hosting The King's Award for Enterprise at St James's Palace.

Meanwhile, other members of the royal family were engaged in separate engagements. Prince William visited a fishing community and youth organizations in Hastings. Prince Harry's 'One Year to Go' celebrations for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham were also attended by a member of the royal family. Queen Camilla also attended Day 10 of the Wimbledon Championships, watching from the Royal Box. She had a notable interaction with British wildcard Arthur Fery, who had reached the semi-finals, and was accompanied by her sister, Annabel Elliot, and other family members.
