King Charles and Queen Camilla visited the London Zoo on Thursday to mark the 200th anniversary of the Zoological Society of London. The royal couple appeared in high spirits as they arrived at the Regent's Park attraction, with Queen Camilla wearing an animal-print dress.

The King, who is the patron of the Zoological Society of London, a role held by every monarch since 1828, was seen listening for a penguin's heartbeat at the Penguin Beach enclosure. He also donned sunglasses for the visit, while the Queen carried an umbrella to shield herself from the day's heat.

The visit comes during a busy week for the King, who recently met with police officers involved in the Bedfordshire train crash and hosted The King's Award for Enterprise. Queen Camilla also attended Wimbledon, where she met with tennis player Arthur Fery and other guests.

Charles and Camilla were taken to the famous Penguin Beach, an enclosure and pool home for Humboldt penguins.
