King Charles and Queen Camilla visited the London Zoo to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Zoological Society of London. The pair, both in their late 70s, appeared to be in good spirits upon their arrival at the Regent's Park location.
Queen Camilla wore a white dress with an animal print, and King Charles sported sunglasses. The Queen also carried an umbrella as temperatures in London reached 33C (91.4F) amid a summer heatwave.
During their visit, the royal couple went to the Penguin Beach enclosure to observe the Humboldt penguins. King Charles, an ardent nature lover, expressed his delight and posed for photographs with the Queen. This visit marked the King's first since becoming patron of the Zoological Society, a role held by every British monarch since 1828.
In other royal engagements, Prince William traveled to Hastings to meet with a fishing community and local youth organizations. Meanwhile, Prince Harry was in Birmingham for the "One Year to Go" celebrations for the 2027 Invictus Games. The King had a busy week, including meeting police officers involved in the Bedfordshire train crash and hosting The King's Award for Enterprise at St James's Palace gardens.
