Leaked text messages attributed to Kimberly Guilfoyle, the U.S. ambassador to Greece, reveal disparaging remarks about Bettina Anderson, the woman who would become Donald Trump Jr.'s wife. The messages, published by The Daily Mail, were exchanged in September 2024.

In the purported texts to Trump donor Eric Deters, Guilfoyle referred to Anderson as a "cloud chasing horror" who was using the media for attention. Deters had apparently reached out to Guilfoyle after the Daily Mail reported on Trump Jr. being seen kissing Anderson at a brunch.

Guilfoyle, who was engaged to Trump Jr. at the time, denied the reports in her exchange with Deters, stating she was having a "great fucking time" and that Anderson was "his ex-wife's friend." Guilfoyle also accused Anderson of sending the tabloid bikini photos of herself.

The reports of Guilfoyle and Trump Jr.'s breakup reportedly accelerated around the time President Trump nominated Guilfoyle for the ambassadorship in December 2024. Trump Jr. and Anderson married in May 2026.

Guilfoyle is currently facing scrutiny over allegations of corruption. She is accused of asking Deters to pay off her $100,000 credit card debt in exchange for access to the administration. Additionally, she is alleged to have advanced the interests of a Greek construction company by allowing its lobbyists into diplomatic meetings. Reports indicate that Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are considering her removal from the ambassadorship.
