Kimberly Guilfoyle's Downfall: Ethics Scandal, Financial Questions Plague Former US Ambassador

Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former U.S. Ambassador to Greece, has reportedly been staying in a lavish Athens estate as her tenure with the administration comes to an end amid a mounting ethics scandal. Fresh revelations have surfaced concerning her personal finances, including attempts to secure funds for a luxury vehicle.

Guilfoyle's exit from her ambassadorship was confirmed by Press Secretary Katie Zacharia, who stated that Guilfoyle was asked to resign. The scandal involves a formal probe by the Department of State's Inspector General into Guilfoyle and her embassy in Athens, initiated following unspecified complaints.

Amidst the unfolding situation, Guilfoyle has reportedly been largely out of public view, sequestered at the ambassador's villa, Jefferson House, located in Athens' Kolonaki neighborhood. Her departure from her official post was marked by her presence on the tarmac alongside Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis and Greek Ambassador Antonis Alexandridis.

Prior to her departure, Guilfoyle had publicly suggested that Vice President JD Vance was slated for an official state visit to Greece in February. She was previously a visible figure in Trump's political circles, often seen at campaign events. In March 2026, she was pictured with President Donald Trump at a Greek Independence Day celebration at the White House.
