Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann's 15-year-old son, Kroy Jr., known as KJ, remains in custody following his indictment on seven felony charges related to alleged sexual assault. If granted bond, he is expected to face stringent monitoring, potentially including GPS tracking and home confinement, according to a sexual assault case expert.
The teen has been indicted by a grand jury in Georgia on charges including aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, three counts of aggravated sexual battery against a child under 16, and false imprisonment. KJ has denied all allegations.
Lindsay Richards, a former prosecutor and sexual assault case expert, stated that the seriousness of the charges could result in decades of prison time if KJ is convicted. Richards expressed surprise that the teenager has not been released to his parents with electronic monitoring, given his age.
Richards suggested that any bond release would likely involve significant conditions, such as home-based schooling and mandatory therapy. KJ's attorney has argued for his release, citing his strong academic and athletic record as evidence of good character and noting he is not a flight risk.
KJ was arrested in Alpharetta, Georgia, last month for an alleged incident on April 23. According to court documents, the alleged victim stated that the incident occurred in a family changing room at a gym. The girl claimed KJ initiated unwanted touching, forced her to perform oral sex, and attempted sexual intercourse. Zolciak has previously stated that KJ passed a polygraph examination and that no DNA belonging to her son was found, branding the allegations as 'reckless and deeply troubling.'
Documents indicate that an investigation was opened after a report of sexual assault at North Fulton Hospital on April 24, 2026. The alleged victim was examined, and reports state no evidence of male DNA was found in her mouth or vagina.
KJ is being held without bond in the Juvenile Court of Fulton County. His legal team has also requested that the proceedings remain confidential due to the ages of KJ and the alleged victim, as well as the public interest stemming from Zolciak's fame as a reality television personality.
Zolciak and Biermann, who finalized their divorce in 2023, have been involved in a contentious custody battle. In March, Biermann sought full custody, accusing Zolciak of mismanagement of parenting responsibilities. In June, a judge granted Biermann primary physical custody of their four minor children, citing Zolciak as 'unstable and unfit,' while joint legal custody remains.
