Kim Zolciak's Son Accused of Pellet Gun Incident Weeks Before Sexual Assault Arrest
Authorities were alerted to an incident involving a pellet gun and a horse ranch more than two months before KJ Biermann Jr. was arrested on sexual assault charges.
A child of reality television personality Kim Zolciak was reportedly accused of firing a pellet gun at a horse ranch in Alpharetta, Georgia, an incident that authorities were alerted to more than two months prior to Zolciak's son Kroy 'KJ' Biermann Jr.'s arrest on sexual assault charges.
In July, a worker at The Equestrian Reserve, located near Zolciak's home, contacted the Alpharetta Police Department. The worker stated she believed one of Zolciak's sons had fired pellets from their residence toward the ranch in an effort to scare a horse. According to the police report, the employee indicated that no person or animal appeared to have been struck by the pellets. The worker could not identify the individual believed to have fired the pellet gun, and the name of the juvenile suspect was redacted in the report.
During the investigation, the responding officer observed between 20 and 30 pellets in a roadway. The worker also informed authorities of a previous encounter with Zolciak's children, describing them as having been verbally rude and uncooperative after being accused of launching fireworks from the property.
Officers visited Zolciak's residence, where two young males answered the door. One identified himself as Zolciak's son and confirmed firing the pellet gun, but denied aiming it at any humans or horses. No arrests or charges were filed in connection with this pellet gun incident.
The news of the July incident emerges as KJ Biermann Jr., 15, has returned to his mother's home following his release on a $200,000 bond. He faces charges in an unrelated sexual assault case involving a female classmate, allegations he denies.
As part of his bond conditions, KJ is residing with Zolciak, attending school virtually, and is prohibited from social media and cellphone use. He is also subject to electronic monitoring and is barred from contact with the alleged victim and individuals under the age of 16. The teenager was indicted by a grand jury on seven felony charges, including aggravated child molestation and aggravated sexual battery.
KJ's attorney, Jason Sheffield, has contested claims made in court regarding a prior juvenile matter, stating that it involved inappropriate behavior between two middle-schoolers and did not result in an adjudication for statutory rape or similar offenses.
Zolciak and her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, are in the midst of a contentious divorce. Despite their ongoing legal battles, they presented a united front at their son's bond hearing. Zolciak has maintained her son's innocence, stating he passed a polygraph examination and that no DNA evidence linked him to the alleged incident.
