Kim Kardashian Makes Amends with Martin Brundle After Monaco F1 Snub

Kim Kardashian has smoothed over an earlier awkward encounter with Formula 1 commentator Martin Brundle, engaging with him at the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday. Earlier this year, Kardashian faced criticism after appearing to snub Brundle during his pre-race grid walk at the Monaco Grand Prix. She also drew attention for mistakenly taking a towel intended for a driver.

At the Marina Bay Circuit in Singapore, where she was present to support her partner, Lewis Hamilton, Kardashian approached Brundle on the grid. "Did I not know the rules? Did we get off on the wrong foot?" she asked, touching his arm. Brundle responded amicably, "No, it's absolutely fine, lovely to see you again at a Grand Prix." He then asked Kardashian about her thoughts on Formula 1.

"I think it is amazing and fun and wild, and something I've never seen before," Kardashian replied. She expressed optimism for Hamilton's race, stating, "He (Lewis Hamilton) is (in great form). I’m just praying for the best tonight. Yes, (Lewis is) very confident, and so am I. Just got to pray for the best."

Hamilton and Kardashian publicly confirmed their relationship earlier this year.

Despite Kardashian's positive interaction, the race proved challenging for Hamilton. The Ferrari driver started third but a strategic misstep during a Virtual Safety Car period resulted in him losing positions. Hamilton opted not to pit when offered the opportunity, a decision that ultimately led him to finish the race in sixth place. He took responsibility for the call on team radio, saying, "Sorry boys. I let you down today with that strategy. My call, and I lost us valuable points."

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur indicated that the team had intended to pit both drivers simultaneously, but Hamilton's decision to stay out altered the strategy. "It was entirely Lewis’s decision," Vasseur stated. "We called him into the pits, but he didn’t come in. It’s a real shame because he would have finished P3."

Following the race, Hamilton reported feeling unwell and did not participate in post-race media duties. Oscar Piastri of McLaren finished fifth, ahead of Hamilton, with Lando Norris finishing one place higher.

The race was won by Max Verstappen, who led from start to finish, securing his first victory in Singapore. He was followed by Charles Leclerc and Kimi Antonelli. Although Verstappen has won two consecutive races, he remains behind championship leader Antonelli in the driver standings. George Russell finished ninth after starting from the back of the grid due to engine penalties. Antonelli has the opportunity to secure the championship title at the upcoming USA Grand Prix in Austin.
