Kim Kardashian Jokes About Bar Exam Failure in "All's Fair" Season 2 Trailer

Kim Kardashian is referencing her own bar exam setbacks in the newly released trailer for the second season of the Hulu legal drama "All's Fair." Kardashian, who portrays divorce attorney Allura Grant on the show, makes a jest about not passing the exam on her first attempt after her mentee, played by Teyana Taylor, announces she has passed.

"I didn't pass on my first try," Kardashian says in the trailer, which premiered on October 7. This line directly alludes to her real-life experience when she failed the California bar exam in November 2025. Kardashian had announced her intention to study law in 2019, following her advocacy work for prison reform. She pursued a legal apprenticeship through California’s Law Office Study Program, completing the six-year course in 2025.

Her character, Grant, also faced challenges, including failing the "baby bar" exam multiple times before eventually passing. The first season of "All's Fair" premiered on Hulu on November 4, chronicling the professional and personal dramas of an all-female divorce law firm. Despite receiving harsh reviews from critics, the show garnered significant viewership, attracting 3.2 million global views within its first three days.

Season 2 of "All's Fair" is set to premiere on Hulu on November 4. The upcoming season will feature the return of the main cast, along with guest appearances from notable figures such as "Real Housewives of New York" alum Dorinda Medley and actress Denise Richards. The new season promises further on-screen conflicts, including a "shocking revelation" that could jeopardize the firm.

Kardashian's journey into law has been a public one. She initially announced her studies in a 2019 Vogue interview, inspired by her successful plea for clemency for Alice Marie Johnson. She later revealed in a December 2025 interview with Time magazine that failing the bar exam had significantly impacted her confidence. Insiders have suggested that she may not attempt the exam again until 2027.

Following the first season's premiere, Kardashian humorously addressed the negative reviews by sharing them on her Instagram, playfully captioning a slideshow with, "Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!?"

The show's narrative allows Kardashian to weave her real-life legal aspirations and setbacks into her fictional character's arc, reflecting her multifaceted career path and public persona. The series, produced by Ryan Murphy, also stars Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson, and Niecy Nash-Betts.
