Kim Kardashian Employs Five Nannies for Her Four Children
The reality star detailed her extensive childcare arrangements in a recent interview, also discussing her eldest daughter North's burgeoning public profile.
Kim Kardashian has revealed she employs a total of five nannies to assist with raising her four children with ex-husband Kanye West. One nanny is on duty at a time, with the other four working in rotation.
Kardashian, who is the primary guardian of North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, eight, and Psalm, seven, shared details about her childcare in a profile interview with The Times of London. She also expressed concerns about her children's increasing public profiles, particularly her eldest daughter, North, who has become active on TikTok and is venturing into the music industry.
"I do worry about it. Each kid does what they’re comfortable with," Kardashian said regarding her children's involvement in the family's reality show, The Kardashians. She noted that her younger children appear during filming but do not have their own storylines. "North loves it a little bit more than the rest. I hold her back."
Kardashian stated that North is interested in "forward-facing projects," and that she and West work to "savor those moments" and manage them appropriately. She indicated that when North's projects are music-related, she and West have a better communication about it to ensure they are aligned and approve of the ventures.
The reality star and West have previously had disagreements regarding North's upbringing. Last year, West included his daughter's vocals on a track with Sean "Diddy" Combs, who was facing allegations of sexual misconduct at the time. Combs was later acquitted of the most serious charges but found guilty on two lesser charges.
Kardashian's parenting also drew public criticism when North revealed in August 2025 that she had a dermal piercing on her hand. Dermal piercings involve a small anchor placed under the skin, carrying risks such as infection and scarring. North responded to the backlash on TikTok, posting a video with a caption addressing the criticism over her finger piercing.
North later appeared to unveil additional dermal finger piercings and, in May, her music video for her first solo single, "#N0rth4evr," featured stick-on piercings near her eyes and nose. Her follow-up single was a collaboration with Lil Novi, the son of rapper Lil Wayne and singer Nivea.
