Kim Kardashian Addresses Martin Brundle Snub at Singapore Grand Prix
The reality star sought to mend her relationship with the Sky Sports presenter after a previous awkward encounter.
Kim Kardashian took steps to avoid another public relations misstep at the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, engaging in a conversation with Sky Sports presenter Martin Brundle during his renowned grid walk.
Following criticism for a previous interaction at the Monaco Grand Prix where she appeared to ignore Brundle, Kardashian reportedly had her team contact Sky Sports ahead of the Singapore event. An insider told the Daily Mail that Kardashian wanted to make a positive impression on Formula 1 fans and within the paddock, particularly as her relationship with Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton has reportedly strengthened.
"Kim's team reached out to SkySports to make sure she could do the Martin Brundle grid walk chat due to the backlash she had received last time," the source revealed. "She got off on the wrong foot with the presenter in Monaco and didn't want a repeat of the backlash at her second race."
To ensure a smoother encounter, Kardashian's team arranged a meeting time and place with Brundle during the busy grid walk. Instead of staying near Hamilton's car, she waited on the red carpet for Brundle. During their 45-second exchange, Kardashian, dressed in a floral corset dress, apologized to Brundle, asking, "Did I not know the rules? Did we get off on the wrong foot?"
Kardashian described her experience with Formula 1 as "amazing and fun and wild and something I've never seen before." She also expressed hopes for a good result in the race, mentioning that both she and Hamilton were confident.
Hamilton, who started the race in third position, experienced a drop in the standings due to a strategic tire call and subsequent degradation.
Kardashian and Hamilton reportedly began dating in February and have since become Instagram-official. They have been seen together on multiple occasions, including cycling in London and a trip to Paris. The two stars have known each other for years, with their relationship appearing to solidify over recent months. Hamilton has previously alluded to their romance, confirming it was "Kim" when a fan asked about his increased happiness.
Hamilton has also reportedly met Kardashian's four children with ex-husband Kanye West: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
