Kiké Hernández Douses Media in Champagne During Dodgers' NLCS Celebration
The jubilant outfielder continued his tradition of spraying reporters with alcohol after the Dodgers clinched a spot in the National League Championship Series.
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kiké Hernández marked the team's advance to the National League Championship Series by showering members of the media with champagne and other alcoholic beverages. The celebratory scene unfolded in the visitors' locker room following the Dodgers' 4-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves.
Videos circulating from the locker room show Hernández engaging in the tradition, dousing reporters, including David Vassegh of "Dodger Talk" and dugout reporter Kristen Watson, with drinks. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had acknowledged Hernández's role in team celebrations before the festivities began.
During his interaction with Vassegh, who was wearing a Dodgers shirt featuring Hernández's image, the outfielder joked about being a "hype man" and suggested they were having a "wet t-shirt contest." Watson also experienced the champagne shower during her interview, remarking on the cold but enjoyable sensation.
Hernández contributed to the Dodgers' win by hitting his 17th career postseason home run in the fourth inning, giving the team an early lead. Freddie Freeman followed with a solo home run shortly after.
Despite being drenched himself by teammates during the celebration, Hernández appeared unfazed, continuing to interact with the media amidst the revelry.
