Australian heritage brand Kidman has opened its first flagship bricks-and-mortar store in Brisbane's city center, located at 175 Eagle Street. The launch event attracted a notable list of attendees, including Olympic swimming champions Ariarne Titmus and Kyle Chalmers, as well as world-record holder Lani Pallister and Olympic gold medallist Shayna Jack. Also present were Kayla Boyd, wife of former NRL star Darius Boyd, and Brisbane Lady Mayoress Nina Schrinner.

The brand, built on the legacy of pastoralist Sir Sidney Kidman, is making a significant push into the fashion market with its leather boots, which are gaining popularity among celebrities and athletes. The brand's chief executive, Adam Giles, stated that Kidman clothing is designed for Australians who work hard, whether in the bush or the boardroom.

Kidman's collection includes popular styles such as the Sidney boot in Chestnut and the women's Helen boot, both retailing at $499. The Sidney boot is available in sizes four to 15, while the Helen boot comes in Caramel and sizes five to 11. Both styles are crafted from premium Australian cow yearling leather. The Sidney boot features a stacked heel, leather sole, full leather lining, and traditional Goodyear welt construction, with an innersole designed for comfort during extended wear. The Helen boot offers a slightly more polished silhouette. Despite being made in India, the leather used is sourced from Kidman's own properties.

To coincide with the store opening, Kidman launched a unique trade-in offer. Beginning Friday, August 28, customers can bring in an old pair of leather boots to the Brisbane store and receive 50% off a new pair of Kidman boots. This promotion effectively reduces the price of some best-selling styles to $249.50. "Our one-of-a-kind boot trade-in offer gives even more people the chance to get on board at an incredible price," Giles said. The Brisbane flagship now gives shoppers the chance to see whether the boots live up to their growing reputation in person

The expansion into fashion draws upon over a century of Australian history associated with Sir Sidney Kidman. Giles emphasized that Kidman products are "Australian by design," utilizing fine Australian materials, including cotton and leather from Kidman properties. This approach aims to provide true traceability and a direct product model, honoring the founder's legacy. The brand aims to represent quintessential Australian country style for both men and women, adaptable to urban settings. "Kidman is Australian by design, with our boots, hats and clothing made from the finest Australian products including Australian cotton and leather from our very own Kidman properties," Giles stated. Western-inspired dressing has moved beyond traditional country wear, with leather boots now styled with diverse outfits. Kidman's boots, made from premium Australian leather, are designed to transition seamlessly from rural to urban environments. The opening of the physical store allows customers to experience the product firsthand and assess its reputation. "This gives our apparel true traceability and a real paddock-to-product model in keeping with the Sir Sidney Kidman legacy," Giles added. "The brand represents Australia's quintessential country style and offers premium items for the man or woman of today, whether they work on the land or not."
