Kevin Pollak Calls Rip Torn the 'Craziest' Actor He's Worked With

Hollywood actor Kevin Pollak has named the late Rip Torn as the "craziest" actor he has ever worked with, recounting a series of bizarre incidents from the set of the 1995 film "Canadian Bacon."

Pollak, known for his roles in "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and "Tulsa King," shared his experiences during an appearance on "The Rich Eisen Show." He described Torn as an actor who kept his co-stars on edge, often believing that individuals on set were targeting him.

"Every day Rip would decide someone in the cast or crew was out to get him," Pollak recalled.

Adding to the eccentric anecdotes, Pollak mentioned Torn's frequent references to being on former President Richard Nixon's enemies list. "If a day also went by without Rip Torn saying, ‘I was on Nixon's list.’ All right, we got it," Pollak said, noting that no one on set felt inclined to inquire further.

Pollak also shared a story involving fellow actor Kevin O'Connor and his wife, who were staying in a hotel room adjacent to Torn's during the filming in Toronto. According to Pollak, the couple repeatedly overheard Torn engaged in loud arguments through the thin hotel walls. This led them to create a "top 10 list" of Torn's most memorable outbursts, with the highest-ranking quote being, "I said milk it like a cow."

Rip Torn, who passed away in 2019, had a distinguished career spanning film, television, and theater. He earned an Academy Award nomination for his role in "Cross Creek" and was widely recognized for his performances in "Men in Black" and "The Larry Sanders Show." His portrayal of Artie on "The Larry Sanders Show" garnered him six Emmy nominations and one win in 1996.
