Kevin Bacon's Sentimental Clothes Lost in FedEx Global Mishap
The actor's package of '90s attire was rerouted through multiple countries before becoming undeliverable.
Actor Kevin Bacon is seeking assistance in locating a FedEx package containing sentimental clothing that has been rerouted multiple times across the globe. Bacon, 68, expressed his frustration on social media after the box, shipped on September 26 from upstate New York to Ireland where he was filming, embarked on an unexpected international journey.
According to Bacon, the package's itinerary included stops in Memphis, France, Germany, and Israel, instead of its intended destination. The parcel's travels were extensive: it reached Germany by September 28, was sent to Israel by September 29, and then bounced between Israel and France in early October. By October 10, it was in the UK, and on October 11, it finally arrived in Ireland, only to remain undelivered for five days.
"I don't understand why. It's just sitting there," Bacon stated, expressing his inability to reach a customer service representative. "I know what you're thinking: Just go buy some more clothes. And you're right. I could buy some clothes, but I want these clothes. I've had them since the '90s. These are like ... they have a certain sentimental value."
The package reportedly contained "old boots, old jeans, old hats" that the "Tremors" star values for their sentimental connection. As temperatures begin to drop in Ireland, Bacon noted the increasing need for the items.
FedEx has since apologized for the incident and stated they are in direct contact with Bacon's team to arrange delivery. The company also indicated it is reviewing the circumstances that led to the package's extensive rerouting. Representatives for FedEx did not immediately respond to requests for further comment.
