Kerry Katona has shared that her 12-year-old daughter, Dylan-Jorge, is "absolutely gutted" to be moving to a state school after her private school closed down. The former Atomic Kitten singer had been paying for private education for Dylan-Jorge, who she shares with her late husband George Kay.

Katona revealed in an interview that a primary concern for her daughter was the difference in holiday duration between private and state schools. Private schools typically have a longer summer break, often starting in early July, while state schools usually break up later and have a shorter holiday period. Dylan-Jorge is reportedly upset that she will now have significantly less time off for the summer.

"Before, she'd get about 12 weeks off, so now she's in shock that she only gets half that," Katona told The Mirror.

Katona, a mother of five, also voiced her opinion on the amount of homework assigned to children. She stated, "They send my child home with homework after they've had them in class for six hours a day. I think it's rubbish!"

Katona also has daughters Molly, 24, and Lilly-Sue, 23, from her marriage to Brian McFadden, and Heidi, 19, and son Max, 18, with ex-husband Mark Croft. She previously opted not to fund a private sixth form for her daughter Heidi, citing Heidi's dislike for school and inconsistent attendance as reasons for her decision, contrasting it with her willingness to pay for drama school if Heidi pursued acting.
