A Graves County Middle School teacher has been arrested and charged with felony grooming of a minor, according to authorities.
Sadie Flores, 25, was taken into custody Friday at the Graves County Sheriff's Office on a charge of grooming a minor, classified as a Class D Felony. The sheriff's office stated that Flores was reportedly having an improper relationship with a minor student within the district. The investigation is ongoing.
Authorities were alerted when a parent, after confiscating a cell phone from the 14-year-old student, discovered deleted messages with Flores. Investigators reviewed the messages and determined they were not school-related and not of a legitimate purpose. The parent also found records of multiple FaceTime calls between Flores and the student that allegedly occurred late in the evening.
Investigators have also uncovered evidence of communication between Flores and the student on multiple social media platforms, including Snapchat and TikTok. A uniform citation obtained by the Daily Mail alleges that Flores attempted to manipulate the minor by expressing "feelings of love and admiration" beyond a typical student-teacher dynamic. Police also stated that Flores and the student met in secret outside of school prior to a school function.
The Graves County School District confirmed that district administration was made aware of the allegation and immediately reported it to the sheriff's department. In a statement, Superintendent Matt Madding emphasized that student safety and well-being are the district's highest priorities and expressed gratitude for the sheriff's department's professional assistance. Due to the ongoing legal and personnel matter, the district stated it is limited in the information it can publicly share.
Flores, who reportedly taught first grade, is married to David Flores, a machine operator, and they have a young daughter. Her social media profiles previously featured images of her family and religious affirmations.
Following her arrest, Flores was transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and later to an out-of-county detention center.
