Kentucky State Trooper Killed in Highway Shooting

An on-duty Kentucky state trooper, identified as Hayden Phillips, was killed Monday in a shooting incident while patrolling Interstate 65 in Warren County, Kentucky. State officials have launched a search for a suspect vehicle, described as a bluish-gray 2025 Honda Civic with the temporary tag TN018596.
The incident occurred near the 38-mile marker, and the vehicle was last seen traveling northbound on I-65 near the 75-mile marker, according to authorities. The public has been warned that the individual associated with the vehicle is considered armed and dangerous, and urged not to approach, but to call 911 immediately.
Kentucky State Police Col. Phillip Burnett Jr. issued a statement expressing the department's grief. "Today, we face one of the most difficult moments an agency can endure as we announce the loss of one of our own," Burnett stated. "His dedication to duty and commitment to the commonwealth will not be forgotten."
