Kentucky Residents Report Bigfoot Encounter

Two friends in Kentucky reported an encounter with what they believe was Bigfoot while driving on rural roads at night. The incident, which occurred around 10 p.m. at a familiar lookout spot, began with a series of unexplained sounds.

According to a report filed with the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO), the group heard what sounded like a distant knock shortly after stopping their vehicles. After a period of silence, one of the individuals suggested responding with a whistle, prompting a sound described as sticks breaking in response. This prompted the group to drive further down the road to turn around.

As they drove back past the lookout, one witness, identified as Clayton, decided to shine a spotlight into the woods. He reported seeing a dark, hairy figure approximately 40 yards away. The figure, estimated to be between 7 and 8 feet tall, turned slightly towards the vehicle. Clayton described the figure as having an ape-like face with a cone-shaped head and yellowish-green eyes.

The area where the sighting occurred is known to have a history of unusual occurrences, including reports of coon hunters' hounds disappearing at night and tracking collars being found in trees with no people nearby.

BFRO Investigator Charlie Raymond reviewed the account and found the witness to be credible. Raymond noted that the witness's story remained consistent across multiple forms of communication and that the described behavior of the creature, such as returning knocks and attempting to avoid the light, is typical of reported Bigfoot encounters. Raymond also stated that he has documented numerous sightings in the surrounding counties and has had personal encounters with possible Bigfoot in those areas as well.
