Kennedy Center Reports Surplus Amid Trump's Financial Claims

Recent federal audit records for 2024 show that the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts generated a surplus in millions of dollars, after accounting for contributions and grants, despite facing an operating deficit. This comes after U.S. President Donald Trump claimed the center has been losing "tens of millions of dollars, even hundreds of millions of dollars" for years.

Trump, who has expressed a desire for his name to be associated with the venue, was observed reviewing a poster on Air Force One that appeared to suggest the demolition of the Kennedy Center. The audit records offer a different financial picture, indicating a positive balance once external funding is considered.
