Kennedy Center Honors Relocates to Capital One Arena for 2026 Ceremony
The annual event will take place at a new venue due to uncertainties surrounding the original location.
The Kennedy Center Honors, a high-profile cultural event, will be held on December 7 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., a spokesperson for the Kennedy Center confirmed.
This marks a change of venue for the annual celebration, which typically takes place at the Kennedy Center's main complex. Capital One Arena is a multi-purpose venue that hosts various sporting events, concerts, and other large gatherings. It is home to the Washington Wizards NBA team, the Washington Capitals NHL team, and Georgetown University's men's basketball program.
The relocation comes amid unspecified uncertainties regarding the future of the Kennedy Center's primary venue. Further details on the event and any ongoing implications of the venue change were not immediately available. The Kennedy Center Honors recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to American culture through dance, music, theater, film, and television.
