Kendall Toole, a former Peloton instructor, has revealed her essential fitness and lifestyle choices for the summer, emphasizing the role of creatine in her routine for cognitive function, muscle health, and sustained energy. Since departing Peloton in June 2024, Toole has cultivated a significant online presence through her fitness app, NKO Club.
Toole has partnered with Create Wellness on their "Do More" campaign, advocating for creatine as a supplement that supports both mind and body. "As both an athlete and a builder, I’m constantly asking a lot of my body and mind, so I rely on supplements that support more than just muscle," she explained. "I use creatine for cognitive function, muscle health and recovery, and sustained energy throughout the day."
Recent research published in Brain Medicine suggests creatine may also offer positive mental health benefits. A study indicated that women with depression who supplemented their antidepressant medication with five grams of creatine daily experienced improved overall well-being after eight weeks.
Toole typically consumes three blue raspberry creatine gummies in the morning with her coffee and mixes a Creatine + Electrolytes stick pack with water before workouts. She also uses weighted dumbbells for Pilates and beginner strength training workouts via the NKO App.
Beyond supplements, Toole shared her reliance on iced coffee, specifically Nespresso, for energy throughout her day. "Nespresso is my daily go-to," she said. "I get weird looks when I say I like my coffee black and straight... but I’m a purist for a quality, strong and smooth black coffee. My only vice is that I do need it iced."
Sleep is another critical component of her recovery strategy. Toole described her Eight Sleep mattress as a "game-changer" for regulating sleep temperature. "Because I am so active, I sleep quite hot, and being able to cool and warm my bed to ensure I stay asleep is amazing," she noted.
For muscle recovery, Toole utilizes a simple lacrosse ball for trigger point release on sore muscles and tight fascia. "Since it’s so easy to travel with, it’s become a total game changer for recovery on the go," she explained.
