Kelsey Parker Embraces New Family Life After Previous Loss
The public figure shares joy in her newborn daughter, River, a year after the stillbirth of her son Phoenix and four years after the death of her husband, Tom Parker.
Kelsey Parker is cherishing the moments with her newborn daughter, River, and partner Will Lindsay, embracing the joys of new parenthood. This happy period follows a year marked by the stillbirth of their son, Phoenix, at 39 weeks gestation. The news of River's birth also comes four years after the death of Parker's husband, Tom Parker, a member of the band The Wanted, who passed away from a brain tumor at age 33.
Parker, 36, shared her reflections on social media, describing the recent weeks as emotional, with a heart that feels both fuller and more fragile. She expressed gratitude for every moment, noting the sleepless nights, slow mornings, and cuddles, as well as witnessing her older children, Aurelia, six, and Bodhi, four, become loving siblings. "After everything we’ve been through, I don’t take a single moment for granted. Life can hold so much love and so much loss at the same time. And right now, I’m just letting myself feel it all," she wrote. "Our little River, you have brought so much hope with you."
Parker announced her pregnancy in May, referring to River as a "rainbow baby," a term for a healthy child born after a family has experienced a pregnancy loss or infant death. She has openly discussed finding love again with tree surgeon Will Lindsay, whom she began dating in September 2024, two years after Tom Parker's passing. She stated that Tom's parents have been supportive of her new relationship and understanding of her journey.
Despite building a new life and family, Parker emphasized that her late husband remains a present figure in their home. "For us at home, Tom is so alive in our house and we speak to him every day," she explained. She also spoke about how meeting Lindsay helped alleviate her loneliness, describing him as someone to confide in during difficult times.
Parker has been candid about the grieving process, stating that there is no single correct way to grieve. She has previously shared how her children helped her cope with the death of Phoenix, noting that they are her "everything" and have guided her through dark times. She recounted the experience of returning to the school run shortly after Phoenix's death, emphasizing the need for normalcy for her children.
Earlier in the month, Parker responded to a social media user who suggested she should "move on and stop thinking" about her late husband. She clarified the distinction between an ex-husband and a deceased husband, asserting that loving someone who has passed away does not cease with a new relationship. "Grief isn't something you 'move on' from or switch off. You learn to carry it alongside the life you continue to build," she stated, adding that Lindsay understands this, as he also carries the memory of his late father. She concluded by affirming that her past, present, and future can coexist.
