Kelsey Parker Debuts Newborn Daughter River Amid Continued Grief
One year after the stillbirth of her son Phoenix, the singer's partner is seen with their new baby, a year after the death of her husband Tom Parker.
Kelsey Parker has been photographed with her newborn daughter, River, for the first time. The images capture a family stroll with her partner, Will Lindsay, a year after the couple experienced the stillbirth of their son, Phoenix, at 39 weeks.
The birth of River comes four years after the death of Parker's husband, Tom Parker, the singer from the band The Wanted, who passed away from a brain tumor at the age of 33.
Parker announced River's arrival on Instagram last week, sharing the name and writing, "Welcome to the world, River. Our little bit of hope." She has been open about navigating grief and finding new happiness. She began dating tree surgeon Will Lindsay in late 2024, two years after Tom Parker's passing.
During the outing near their London home, Parker appeared doting as she held River. She was accompanied by her two older children, Aurelia, six, and Bodhi, four, whom she shares with Tom Parker. Parker has emphasized that Tom remains a present figure in their lives, with the children speaking about him daily. She stated that her children are her primary focus, providing them with a sense of normalcy, including continuing the school run amidst her personal challenges.
Parker has spoken about the support she has received, including from Tom Parker's parents, who she said understand the difficulty of her journey. She announced her pregnancy in May, referring to her new baby as a "rainbow baby," a term for a healthy child born after a previous pregnancy loss.
Reflecting on her grief, Parker has stated there is no set timeline for moving on and that she never anticipated being widowed at 32 with young children. She has also addressed online criticism, including a troll who suggested she should "move on and stop thinking" about her late husband. Parker responded by clarifying the distinction between loving a deceased spouse and an ex-husband, explaining that grief is carried alongside continued life, a sentiment her current partner, Will Lindsay, understands as he also honors his father who died when he was 21.
Parker previously shared that meeting Lindsay helped alleviate her loneliness, stating, "I was lonely and I'm 34 now, I was so lonely and just wanted someone and now I've met someone."
