Kelly Stafford, wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, has voiced concerns regarding the Seattle Seahawks' incorporation of artificial intelligence into their football operations. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald recently stated that the team is integrating AI tools, such as Copilot, into their preparation strategies, believing it offers a competitive advantage.
Macdonald told The Athletic that the Seahawks are "deeply integrating" AI to run game models and analyze game film more rapidly than humanly possible. This announcement prompted a reaction from Kelly Stafford, who shared a graphic about the Seahawks' AI usage on her Instagram story.
"I’m sure everyone is doing this or maybe not, I don’t know… but it just doesn’t feel right," Stafford wrote, accompanying her post with a poll asking, "Does AI scare you?"
She further commented on a Bleacher Report graphic she reposted, questioning if such technology could lead to AI replacing coaching jobs. The Seahawks and the Rams are anticipated to be among the top teams in the NFL this season, with their matchups, including two scheduled for Christmas Day and Week 18, potentially impacted by these technological advancements.
The Seahawks began their 2026 season with a 13-10 victory against the Patriots, while the Rams lost to the 49ers, 27-7.
