Kelly Stafford Addresses Harrison Mevis' Release
Matthew Stafford's wife comments on the Rams parting ways with kicker Harrison Mevis after missed kicks.
Kelly Stafford, wife of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, has weighed in on the team's decision to release kicker Harrison Mevis following two crucial missed field goals during a recent game against the Buffalo Bills.
Mevis was let go by the Los Angeles Rams after struggling with a 55.6% field goal percentage this season, ranking him 32nd in the NFL. The Rams have since signed Blake Grupe to replace him.
On Friday, Kelly Stafford posted on Instagram, sharing photos of her and her daughters at the game. Her caption read, "God had a different plan than having that ball go through the uprights, but whatever the plan is, we trust it. ❤️ / The plan does, however, always include cute fits 🥰".
The missed kicks in question included a potential game-winner that was blocked and a 50-yard attempt that went wide in the first quarter of the Monday Night Football loss to the Bills. Matthew Stafford will likely be looking for Grupe to provide more consistent scoring for the Rams.
