Kelly Osbourne Marks 42nd Birthday With Heartfelt Tribute to Late Father Ozzy
The television personality shared memories and expressed her longing for more time with her father, who passed away in 2025.
Kelly Osbourne recently celebrated her 42nd birthday, marking the occasion with a touching tribute to her late father, Ozzy Osbourne, on Instagram. The television personality shared a throwback photo of herself embracing the rock legend, accompanied by a bouquet of red roses with a note that read, "I Love You Forever - Daddy."
In her heartfelt message, Osbourne reflected on her father's influence, writing, "Birthdays are a reminder of the life you gave me, Daddy. I wish you were still here to celebrate it with me. Every candle I blow out carries the same wish… Just one more moment with you." Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic Black Sabbath frontman, died of a heart attack on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76, following a history of health issues including Parkinson's disease.
Osbourne also shared moments from her birthday celebration, including dancing with her three-year-old son, Sidney, in matching skeleton costumes. She posted a video of them dancing to 50 Cent's "In Da Club," embracing the Halloween spirit. Another moment captured was a peaceful scene of Sidney sleeping on her while she relaxed in bed, with Osbourne captioning it, "There is no better way to spend my birthday than cuddling with my baby!"
This period of celebration follows a challenging year for Osbourne, which included the death of her father and a split from her fiancé, Sid Wilson. Earlier in the year, Osbourne had also revealed a significant weight gain, stating she had gained two stone in six months. She had previously faced public scrutiny and concern over her slimmer appearance at the BRIT Awards, though she has denied using weight loss injections.
Osbourne has been open about her lifelong struggles with weight and body image, dating back to her teenage years on the reality show "The Osbournes." She has spoken about being told she was "too fat for TV" and needed to lose weight to become a "movie star." Her journey has included gastric sleeve surgery in 2018, which contributed to an 85lb weight loss, and a subsequent 100lb weight gain during her pregnancy with Sidney.
Following her father's death, Osbourne revealed that she relapsed into drinking due to her grief, describing herself as a "shell of myself." She has since regained her sobriety and has been sober for eight months, crediting the support of those around her and a decision to limit her social circle.
Osbourne has previously been candid about addiction and recovery, having relapsed in 2021 after nearly four years of sobriety. She has emphasized that her past struggles with substances were not about partying but about escaping pain and difficult emotions.
Osbourne is currently focused on carving out a new life for herself after returning to the UK, where she spent part of her childhood before moving to Los Angeles.
