Kelly Osbourne Discusses Addiction Relapse Following Father Ozzy Osbourne's Death

Kelly Osbourne has spoken about a relapse into drinking following the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, attributing the recurrence of her addiction to the grief she experienced. Osbourne, 41, revealed in a recent podcast interview that her father's passing sent her into a spiral that led her to relapse after more than four years of sobriety.

She described the period after her father's death, when she was 76, as hitting "ground zero." Osbourne stated that she became unable to care for herself, describing herself as "a shell of myself" who was "empty" and "broken in every way a human being could possibly be broken."

Osbourne, who has a history of drug and alcohol addiction since her teenage years, confirmed that she has since regained her sobriety and is now eight months sober. She emphasized the importance of the people around her and the decision to "close her circle" of friends, as some expected her to move past her grief more quickly.

This is not the first time Osbourne has publicly shared her journey with addiction and recovery. In 2021, she revealed a relapse after nearly four years of sobriety, explaining that a single glass of champagne had escalated. She has previously stated that her use of alcohol and drugs was not for recreational purposes but as a way to cope with difficult emotions and pain, a struggle that she has faced since gaining fame as a teenager on her family's reality show, 'The Osbournes.'

In addition to her personal disclosures, Osbourne also made a public appearance at London Fashion Week on Saturday, attending the John Richmond show. She wore a striking gold hooded jumpsuit from the designer, featuring a sheer midriff cut-out and a thigh-high slit. This appearance followed her participation in Natasha Zinko's show on Friday night, where she walked the runway alongside Katie Price.
