Kelly Clarkson, marking her return to live performance, made a lighthearted remark about her professional ties to NBC during a concert at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. "I would get fired by NBC, but I don’t work there anymore," Clarkson quipped, referencing the recent end of her eponymous talk show after seven seasons. She expressed sadness over the show's conclusion, calling it "a fun show."

Clarkson announced in February that she would be wrapping up her talk show, a decision she described as not an "easy decision." At the time, she stated her intention to step away to focus on her children. Her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, died of cancer in August 2025. The couple finalized their divorce in 2022 after a protracted legal process. Clarkson indicated that prioritizing her children in the wake of their father's death was "necessary and right for this next chapter of [their] lives."

In addition to her talk show's conclusion, Clarkson has been active in her music career, announcing plans earlier this month for a new single, her first since May 2025. The single, titled "Id Be Lyin," was released on July 17, coinciding with the start of her Las Vegas residency, which is scheduled to run through mid-August.

Clarkson is also set to return as a coach for the 30th season of the competition series "The Voice" this fall. She previously served as a coach on the series from Season 14 through Season 21. Sources close to Clarkson have indicated she is "excited to move at a different pace" following the conclusion of her talk show, looking forward to more "creative work." This includes a desire to continue making music and performing, while remaining open to "popping up on projects she enjoys, but nothing that requires an ongoing daily grind."
