Kelly Brook, 46, has spoken about a period in her life marked by a complicated love triangle involving actors Jason Statham and Billy Zane. Appearing on the talk show Loose Women, Brook discussed how she met Zane while she was still in a seven-year relationship with Statham.

Brook described the end of her engagement to Statham as "inevitable," noting that she had been with him since she was 18. She explained that she met Zane at age 25, a time when she felt she was evolving into a new person. "My first boyfriend didn't really see me as a woman, he still saw me as a girl," Brook said. "I think someone coming along and seeing me for the woman that I had become rather than the girl I was made me step into that new person a lot more."

The conversation on Loose Women arose after the film Titanic, which starred Zane, was voted the best love triangle in cinema history. Brook admitted to having experienced love triangles before, attributing them to a lack of emotional maturity to acknowledge when a relationship had ended or when she had outgrown it.

Brook dated Statham from 1997 to 2004, during which time he proposed. The couple moved to Los Angeles, where Statham's acting career began to take off. Brook stated that while his career flourished, hers "floundered," and she felt neglected, leading her to fall out of love with him.

She recalled telling Statham that she felt he "didn't know who I was anymore" before they broke up. According to Brook, Statham questioned her decision, stating, “Why are you leaving now? Look I'm a movie star and I'm a millionaire, why now?”

Brook's relationship with Zane began after they met on the set of the 2004 film Survival Island (also known as Three). The couple became engaged and lived together before their split in 2008. At the time, reports suggested that Brook decided Zane was not the person she wanted to marry.

She later told Weekend Magazine that her relationship with Zane was a "fling" and that she knew it would either "make us or break us." She stated that Statham still says it was his ego that prevented him from understanding her decision to leave.
