Actor Kellan Lutz, known for his role in the "Twilight" saga, relocated his family from Orange County, California, to Franklin, Tennessee, three years ago, a move prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic and a desire for increased family support.

Lutz explained on the podcast "Inside of You" with Michael Rosenbaum that the decision to move to Tennessee was significantly influenced by his wife, Brittany Lutz, who was born and raised in Orange County. Following the pandemic, many individuals, including Lutz's wife's family, left California. The couple decided to join her family in Tennessee to ensure she would have a robust support system, especially when Lutz travels for work and she is home with their two children.

"We got some land, got great Bible studies that we're a part of, great churches, great community," Lutz said, describing their new home. He noted that a health concern with one of their children amplified his wife's feelings of being overwhelmed, leading her to express a desire to move.

Lutz acknowledged that while he loves California, the move provided a different lifestyle. He mentioned that their current community in Franklin, Tennessee, has a significant number of other actors, leading to an experience where he has attended more movie premieres in Tennessee than in Los Angeles in recent years.

However, the transition has involved adjustments. Lutz noted that his family is still adapting to the different climate and natural occurrences, such as tornadoes, which can be particularly concerning for his wife given their children. They also miss certain amenities, specifically mentioning good sushi and Mexican food.

Despite the adjustments, Lutz expressed satisfaction with their decision for the time being, stating, "We have, and it's great. There's a lot of great things about Tennessee, especially Franklin where we live." The actor indicated that the duration of their stay in Tennessee remains open-ended. He also referenced Dennis Quaid's similar sentiments about leaving Los Angeles due to frustration with taxes and services.
