An element of the widely publicized wedding between NFL star Travis Kelce and pop megastar Taylor Swift has led to an unusual conversation among their colleagues.

During the premiere of "Fox NFL Kickoff" on September 13, 2026, hosts Charissa Thompson, Julian Edelman, and Charles Woodson discussed the upcoming NFL season, which would soon feature Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs. The conversation naturally shifted to Kelce's recent marriage to Swift, a ceremony that took place over the July 4 weekend.

Edelman, a former Patriots wide receiver, casually mentioned his attendance at the event, which reportedly had over 1,000 guests. Thompson, who is friends with Kelce, also confirmed her presence and shared that she attended the rehearsal dinner.

Woodson, a former NFL defensive back, expressed surprise at being the only one of the three not invited. "I thought I had the Ohio connection. I thought I would be the one invited," Woodson remarked, referencing his and Kelce's shared home state.

Thompson attempted to deflect the topic by jokingly stating, "we signed NDAs" (non-disclosure agreements), implying confidentiality surrounding the event. She then quipped that Woodson's invitation might have "got lost in the mail."

When Woodson pressed Edelman about his attendance, the former receiver simply reiterated, "It was a great wedding." This prompted Woodson to question why Edelman, with his three Super Bowl wins, might have received an invitation over him.

Woodson has previously commented on the Kelce-Swift relationship. In 2023, he told the Daily Mail that the coupling was "good for the NFL" as long as it did not negatively impact Kelce's performance. He expressed belief that Kelce's dedication to being the best in his position would prevent any detrimental effects from the increased celebrity status.

Kelce himself has spoken glowingly about his wedding day, calling it the "best night of my life." He described the event at Madison Square Garden as a fulfillment of a childhood dream, thanking the venue's owners for facilitating a private celebration. "It was a fun offseason, man, wedding was the best night of my life and I appreciate everyone who came out and celebrated and had fun with us," Kelce said during training camp. "It was a crazy night. It was full of a lot of celebration. But it's football, baby."
