Keith Urban became visibly emotional while performing his song "We Go Back" on Friday night at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City. The performance occurred amid reports that his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, is romantically involved with private equity businessman Michael Reinstein.

Describing the song to the audience, Urban, 58, explained it tells the story of a man who "screwed it up" in a small-town relationship and later regrets letting the woman go when she has moved on with someone new. The lyrics include the lines, "I know I never should have let you go. I was young and dumb, and I messed it all up bad." He added, "You tell me that it’s too late now, ’cause there’s somebody new around. But what we’ve got is the one thing you’ll never have. We go back."

Throughout the concert, Urban appeared to fight back tears, at one point wiping his eyes while smiling and crouching on stage. He returned to the song from his June-released album "Flow State" five months after his divorce from Kidman was finalized.

Urban and Kidman, who married in 2006, announced their separation in September 2025. Kidman, 59, filed for divorce on Sept. 30, citing "irreconcilable differences." Their divorce was finalized in January, with both parties waiving rights to spousal or child support. They share two daughters, Sunday and Faith. Kidman also has two children, Bella and Connor, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.

Kidman sparked dating rumors with Michael Reinstein in July after they were photographed together in Portofino, Italy. A source told Australian outlet New Idea that Urban was "devastated" by the news, feeling a renewed sense of loss. However, another insider told the Daily Mail that Urban felt "relieved that she’s moved on," suggesting he carried guilt over the end of their marriage. Prior to these rumors, Urban was linked to singer Karley Scott Collins and his guitarist Maggie Baugh, though both denied the speculation.
