Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence in Indianapolis. Police initiated a traffic stop at approximately 1 a.m. after observing Allen's vehicle stopped in a no-parking zone.

During the stop, officers stated Allen exhibited signs of impairment. He was subsequently taken into custody. Jail records indicate the 34-year-old was booked on two misdemeanor charges: DWI/DUI/OWI-endanger person and DWI/DUI/OWI-ACE .08 or more.

A mugshot obtained following the arrest showed Allen with red, glassy eyes. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department stated that an arrest and charge are accusations, and Allen is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will determine final charging decisions.

Allen recently signed with the Colts on Aug. 18, having previously played for the Los Angeles Chargers. He participated in the Colts' preseason finale against the Detroit Lions on Saturday, recording one reception for 24 yards.

The Colts organization has acknowledged being aware of the incident and is gathering further information, declining additional comment at this time. Allen, a prominent player for the Chargers since being drafted in 2013, considered retirement this offseason before joining the Indianapolis team.
