Keegan Allen Suffers Lacerations After Armed Robbery in West Hollywood
The 'Pretty Little Liars' star shared images of his injuries and criticized local leadership following the incident.
Actor Keegan Allen has revealed he sustained lacerations to his forehead and temple after being robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint by two masked assailants in West Hollywood. Allen, 37, shared a photo on his Instagram Stories showing the injuries that required stitches, stating he was "healing."
The incident occurred Thursday night outside the upscale grocery store Laurel Supply. In an Instagram video, Allen recounted being ambushed by two masked men who threatened him with a gun and a knife before stealing his watch.
"These two dudes hit me in the head and pointed a gun at me with a knife, and then took off," Allen said in the video, appearing with blood on his face, neck, and clothing. "They had masks on and took my watch. They took my watch. Dammit."
Allen also posted security footage that appeared to corroborate his account, showing two masked individuals approaching him in the parking lot as he was loading items into his truck. In his caption, Allen expressed concern about safety in West Hollywood and appeared to criticize the approaches to crime by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom.
"Let’s hope all these flock cameras that (Karen Bass), (Gavin Newsom) and everyone thinks will stop crime can find these very dangerous criminals," he wrote.
According to 911 dispatch audio obtained by Page Six, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies were alerted to an "assault" at the grocery store's address shortly before responding to the scene. A representative for the LASD confirmed to Page Six that a call for service was placed for a "robbery."
"Upon arrival, deputies contacted a male adult who stated he was approached by two male adults dressed in black clothing. One suspect pointed a silver handgun at the victim while the other pointed a knife and demanded the victim’s watch and bracelet," the LASD representative stated.
Allen received medical attention from the LA County Fire Department at the scene but was not transported to a hospital. Law enforcement officers were seen leaving Allen’s residence the following afternoon as the investigation continued. A deputy at the scene confirmed the investigation was ongoing.
