Keegan Allen Robbed at Gunpoint and Knifepoint in West Hollywood
The 'Pretty Little Liars' star was attacked for his watch outside a grocery store and questioned the safety of the area.
Actor Keegan Allen was robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint on Thursday night outside a luxury grocery store in West Hollywood. The incident left the actor bloodied and prompted him to question the safety of the area.
Allen, 37, stated in an Instagram post shortly after the attack that two masked men approached him, threatened him with a gun and a knife, and stole his watch. Security footage from the incident appears to show two individuals, one striking Allen multiple times with a gun while the other held him at knifepoint. The assailants fled after taking only his watch, leaving him with a bracelet and a ring.
Following the attack, Allen sought medical attention and indicated he suspected he had sustained a concussion. He later expressed concern about the prevalence of crime in West Hollywood, directly addressing Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom. Allen questioned the effectiveness of surveillance cameras, such as Flock Safety systems, in deterring such criminal activity.
According to city reports, West Hollywood has implemented a number of Flock Safety license plate readers and live-video cameras intended to aid law enforcement in tracking suspects and solving crimes. Recent discussions have also raised concerns about the potential sharing of surveillance data with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Allen is widely known for his role as Toby Cavanaugh in the Freeform series "Pretty Little Liars," which aired from 2010 to 2017. He also starred as Liam Walker in the drama "Walker" from 2021 to 2024 and recently appeared in an episode of "The Rookie" this year.
