Kebab Shop Worker Arrested, Charged with Murder in Baby's Death

Police have charged a 28-year-old kebab shop worker with murder following the death of his three-month-old son. Uneeb Ullah was arrested at his Ipswich apartment after his infant child was taken to the hospital with significant internal injuries last Thursday.

According to detectives, the baby was initially transported to Ipswich Hospital before being transferred to Brisbane's Queensland Children's Hospital. The infant was placed on life support but died from his injuries on Tuesday afternoon. Police were alerted by hospital staff due to the nature of the injuries.

Ullah, who reportedly described himself as a digital creator living life the "Aussie way" on social media, appeared surprised at his arrest, authorities said. His social media profiles featured numerous selfies and videos, including some showing the child and Ullah interacting.

Ullah was charged with one count of murder, categorized as a domestic violence offense against a child. He was formally refused bail at a Brisbane Magistrates Court hearing on Wednesday and has been remanded in custody. His case is scheduled to return to court on October 26.

Detective Inspector Mick Manago stated that Ullah was allegedly home alone with his son when the injuries occurred. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the baby's death. Support is being provided to the child's mother.

Authorities confirmed that Ullah had no prior criminal record beyond minor traffic offenses, and the family had no previous interactions with police. The investigation continues to examine the relationship dynamics between Ullah and the baby's mother.
