Kayla Rae Reid, ex-wife of Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, has announced the official finalization of their divorce. Reid shared on Instagram on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, that "As of July 1st 2026, 9:59 am, I am officially divorced."
The model posted a photo of herself in a yellow dress, echoing the sentiment of actress Nicole Kidman's iconic "divorce photo" from 2001. While the Kidman photo became viral, the actress later clarified it was taken on a movie set and not in real life.
Reid, 34, received numerous congratulatory messages on her announcement. Page Six confirmed that the divorce was finalized more than a year after Reid initially announced their separation in March 2025.
Reid had previously stated via Instagram in June 2025, "I made the hard decision to end my marriage after deep prayer and reflection." She added, "I hold marriage in the highest regard, so this has been one of the most painful, revealing, and challenging seasons of my life."
Lochte, 41, acknowledged their shared history, stating he was "deeply grateful for the life we’ve built together and especially for the love we share for our three children."
The couple married in 2018 and share three children: Caiden Zane, 9, Liv Rae, 6, and Georgia June, 2.
The divorce proceedings became contentious, with Reid accusing Lochte in March of having cheated on her with his current fiancée, Molly Gillihan, for years. Reports also surfaced in April of an alleged email in which Lochte compared Gillihan favorably to Reid. Lochte and Gillihan became engaged last month after dating for 14 months.
