Katya Jones Clarifies Comment About "Fit" Dancer

Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Katya Jones has clarified remarks made about contestant Lawrence Robb, after speculation arose that she called him 'fit' during a live show.

Viewers noticed Jones appearing to mouth the word 'fit' to fellow professional dancer Aleksandra Isaeva after Robb performed a Paso Doble with his partner, Jowita Przystał. The moment was discussed on the morning television show Good Morning Britain.

Ed Balls, who was partnered with Jones in 2016, recounted on the show that he had initially believed Jones had said 'he's fit,' based on his understanding of her. However, Jones subsequently contacted Balls via WhatsApp to correct the record, stating, "I said fierce."

Balls told viewers, "In my heart of hearts I still think that, but she sent me a WhatsApp and it said 'I said fierce.'" He added, "Katya has always told me the unvarnished truth so it must be true."

The exchange on Good Morning Britain led to fan commentary on social media platform X, with some users questioning what Jones had said and others making lighthearted remarks about the situation.

Robb, who plays Mackenzie Boyd on the soap opera Emmerdale, scored 20 points for his performance. He is in a relationship with West End performer Pamela Blair, and the couple made their relationship public in 2024. YouTube personality John Nellis, partnered with Jones, topped the leaderboard in the first live show with a score of 31 for his Foxtrot.
