Singer Katy Perry has spoken about her separation from Orlando Bloom, describing the period following their June 2025 split as challenging while also gushing about her current relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Perry, 41, told People in an interview published Wednesday that the past year, which included her "Lifetimes" tour, was particularly difficult. She shared that her 6-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, whom she shares with Bloom, accompanied her on tour. Perry noted that seeing her daughter witness her working was beneficial, stating, "She sees her mom being strong." However, she acknowledged that "not every day was easy."

The singer launched her tour in April 2025. News of her separation from Bloom, 49, was confirmed by their representatives in July 2025 via a joint statement to Page Six. At the time of the announcement, Perry was in Australia.

"It was probably the hardest time," Perry recounted, describing feelings of isolation as her friends were elsewhere. "I was crying and just feeling far away." She credited her support system, referring to them as "angels," for helping her through the difficult period. Perry emphasized that she "learned how to step back into [her] purpose" during the tour.

During this time, Perry said she met "the love of [her] life," referring to Trudeau. The pair, Perry and Trudeau, 54, were first romantically linked shortly after Perry and Bloom's breakup, when they were seen dining together in Montreal, Canada.

Perry confirmed their relationship in October 2025 during a concert in Prague, Czech Republic, playfully responding to a fan's marriage proposal sign by stating, "No, I am dating someone else, for crying out f--king loud."

Reflecting on her nearly decade-long relationship with Bloom, Perry told People that she believes "each relationship is a teacher" and that she "wouldn’t have stayed in something for nine years if there [weren’t] really important things to learn." She added, "I had to let it go so I could move forward."

Perry described her desire for an "epic, legendary love," a topic she had previously discussed with her therapist. She views her relationship with Trudeau as the "missing puzzle piece" that has now appeared in her life. The pop star also characterized their romance as "super healing."

Perry stated that Trudeau, who had attended some of her tour stops, is supportive and "in awe." She noted his "heart-centered" nature, which she feels aligns with her own, expressing gratitude for their connection.

Bloom was most recently reported to be connected with Swiss model Luisa Laemmel, 28, after they were photographed together leaving the Super Bowl in February.
