Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom Could Be Subpoenaed in Montecito Mansion Legal Battle

Katy Perry and her former partner Orlando Bloom may be called to court as part of an ongoing legal dispute concerning a $15 million mansion in Montecito, California. The property was initially purchased by the couple in 2020.

Both Perry and Bloom were named in recent legal filings related to litigation between Carl Westcott, the founder of 1-800-Flowers, and Bernie Gudvi, Perry's business manager. Westcott had previously sued over the 2020 sale of the eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom home, asserting that he was incapacitated by painkillers following surgery at the time of the transaction.

A judge ruled against Westcott in 2024, enforcing the sale to Perry and ordering her to pay the remaining balance on the home, which amounted to approximately $4.06 million. However, in an emergency hearing request filed on October 7, Westcott's attorneys claimed that Gudvi, who manages Perry's finances, had only made a partial payment of $900,000 on June 30 and still owed the remaining balance.

Westcott's legal team has requested the court to issue subpoenas for Perry, 41, and Bloom, 49, to examine third parties. Their filing stated that Perry is Gudvi's principal responsible for payment, and Bloom is a managing member of the LLC that acquired the title to the house on May 17, 2024. The attorneys argued that Bloom would possess knowledge regarding Perry's assets, adding that Perry is a proper party for examination regarding the outstanding purchase price.

In response, Gudvi's lawyers stated on October 7 that Westcott's actions were an attempt to harass Perry, Bloom, and Gudvi as leverage for his pending appeals. They argued that Westcott's team cited no legal basis for pursuing post-judgment examinations of Perry and Bloom. Gudvi's attorneys also indicated that the remaining sum owed is in limbo due to Westcott's appeal of a June 2026 decision that ordered him to pay Gudvi approximately $3.4 million in attorneys' fees and costs.

Judge Joseph Lipner denied Westcott's ex parte application on October 8, stating that Westcott had not demonstrated an emergency and that any relief sought should be done through a noticed motion.

Perry and Bloom, who began dating in 2016, welcomed their daughter Daisy in August 2020. The couple announced their separation in 2025. Perry later began a relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Bloom has reportedly been linked to Swiss model Luisa Laemmel.
