Katseye Criticized for Obscuring Trinity Rodman's Victoria's Secret Runway Moment
Social media users claim the K-pop group's performance choreography detracted from the soccer star's appearance on the catwalk.
The K-pop group Katseye is facing backlash for its performance during the recent Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, with many social media users asserting that the group's choreography overshadowed soccer star Trinity Rodman's runway walk. Critics on X, formerly Twitter, argued that the girl group's performance directly in front of Rodman during her catwalk moment prevented her from being adequately captured by cameras.
One widely shared post stated, 'KATSEYE completely blocking trinity rodman opening the walk and not a single camera on her is diabolical.' Other viewers expressed surprise, with one commenting, 'Trinity Rodman walked???' The original poster clarified that while the group eventually made space for Rodman, the choreography was perceived as 'messy.' Another viewer remarked, 'Omg I didn't see her... I was wondering when she was gonna come out!'
Rodman, 24, wore a black tank top with a sparkly silver bra, tiny black shorts, and sheer black socks with a polka dot pattern. She accessorized with sparkly silver slingback heels. Behind the scenes, she was seen wearing the lingerie brand's signature pink and white striped robe.
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show returned to Los Angeles after a 19-year absence. The event featured performances by Megan Thee Stallion, Megan Moroney, and Tate McRae, and saw the runway debut of Victoria's Secret's newest Angel, Solange Omon. The show also included appearances from supermodels such as Gigi and Bella Hadid, Adriana Lima, Elsa Hosk, Barbara Palvin, Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio, Vittoria Ceretti, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Irina Shayk, and Ashley Graham.
Katseye, currently consisting of members Yoonchae, 18, Daniela Avanzini, 22, Lara Raj, 20, and Megan Skiendiel, 20, has recently seen changes in its lineup. Sophia Laforteza and Manon Bannerman stepped away from promotional activities earlier this year to prioritize their mental health and well-being.
