Katie Zacharia has been offered the role of White House Press Secretary, multiple outlets confirmed Friday.
Zacharia, who currently serves as a senior communications advisor for Trump Media & Technology Group and its platform Truth Social, is an attorney and a frequent television commentator. She previously held a brief spokesperson role at the Department of Homeland Security.
The position has been open since Karoline Leavitt departed the White House in August. Leavitt has reportedly taken a job with Fox News.
Zacharia would be the sixth chief spokesperson to serve across two administrations. White House officials confirmed the offer to the BBC and ABC News. Fox News Digital also confirmed the offer on Friday afternoon.
