Katie Zacharia Mocks Brief White House Tenure with Halloween Post

Katie Zacharia, who holds the record for the shortest tenure as White House press secretary, recently shared a social media post detailing her designer outfit and personal fitness, seemingly in jest about her brief time in the role.

On October 30, Zacharia posted a "Fit Check for Halloween Fans," listing items from her wardrobe. She specified a Veronica Beard blazer and skirt in size 00, Christian Louboutin heels, and a Nordstrom blouse, with the ensemble totaling approximately $2,500. She highlighted her size, noting it was "00, even after four kids," and emphasized that her blonde hair was natural, without extensions or dye.

Zacharia's tenure as White House press secretary lasted five days, from October 12 to October 16. This duration surpassed the previous record of 10 days set by Anthony Scaramucci during the first Trump administration. President Trump had appointed Zacharia to succeed Karoline Leavitt.

In contrast to many predecessors, Zacharia held a press briefing on her second day in the position, a departure from the more common practice of taking time to prepare. The briefing, lasting about 14 to 15 minutes, was notably brief and received criticism, with some reporters observing that she appeared intimidated and lacked command.

Further complicating her short tenure, Zacharia faced scrutiny over claims of being a lawyer despite not having passed the bar exam. The backlash from these events, coupled with challenging interviews on Fox News, led to her departure from the role. Her next position within the Trump administration has not been specified.

Earlier in the week, Zacharia had humorously expressed on Instagram her disappointment that she had not been a popular Halloween costume choice this year. She told Newsweek, "I hope you do dress up as me because it’s absolutely hilarious. We will be dressing up as a family. I will wear the OG costume and stay tuned to what my kids will be."

She also posted Halloween costumes for her dogs, which parodied news publications, naming them "Paw-litico" and "Woofington Post."

Since leaving the press secretary role, Zacharia has indicated a willingness to serve again in the capacity if called upon by President Trump.
